New class schedule:

  • 12pm to 12:30pm – Wu style form
  • 12:30pm to 1pm – Yang style 24 form
  • 1pm to 3:30pm – Yang style long form, push hands, sword and saber

January 4, 2014

Master Xie will begin teaching the Yang 24 form this month, to new students. This popular style is a shortened and simplified version of the traditional Yang style form. Instruction in other topics (long form, push hands and applications, sword and saber) is ongoing.

December 15, 2012

Classes are cancelled on December 22-29 for the holidays. To avoid scuffs and scratches, we are no longer allowed to wear regular athletic shoes on the wooden floor; please wear socks or bring indoor cotton-soled slippers only.

We intend to start a new class series on Tai Chi Saber in March 2012.

April 22, 2011

We are now wrapping up our instructional series on the Yang style straight sword, in favor of a stronger focus on push hands and form applications. Class is cancelled on Saturday April 30, for the Washington Shotokan Auction.

December 18, 2010

There will be no classes held on Christmas 2010 or New Year’s Day.

October 16, 2010

We will be starting a new class series on the Taiji straight sword in November 2010. While new students are welcome to join at any time, this would be a particularly good time–especially if you have not previously learned any variation of the Yang style sword form. Instruction in the empty hand form and push hands will continue as before. Please contact us if you have any questions.

Our school will be performing at the Enchanting China show at Seattle’s Benaroya Hall, on May 29 at 2pm. Mak Fai Kung Fu Club will also perform. Admission is free for the early show.
